VIA Community

As part of the global peace organization Service Civil International  (SCI), VIA promotes peace, intercultural understanding and solidarity, social justice, sustainable development and respect for the environment.

VIA is working on smaller scale alternatives and hopes to inspire others to make healthy changes for themselves, local communities and the globe. We strongly contrast a reigning global culture of self-interest, economization and violence with a more sustainable, tolerant, solidarity-based and non-violent coexistence.

We aim to make a strong contribution to good coexistence within Dutch society and around the globe. We take on this great responisbility because we see it as our own if we want to create a better world.

To achieve this objective, we engage as a transferring organisation, giving volunteers the chance to participate in different places within Europe and many other places in the world. In line with the activities of SCI International, we are actively engaging in peace education, environmental protection, cultural preservation, human rights, and community development.
