Our Projects
How does a project work?
In an international project, you live and work together with a group of international volunteers in a community or organisation abroad. It is a place for exchange of information about different countries and cultures. Work will be done together to everybody’s possibilities and capabilities.
The international group is led by one or two camp leaders, who are usually also responsible for preparing the project and who know the local people you are working with. From the local community, you will learn a lot about the country of your project in a different way as if you were a tourist there. Special attention is paid to explaining the background and goals of the project.
A volunteer project lasts usually two to three weeks, and you usually work 6 hours a day on average. Thus, you will also have enough free time to discover the area or do whatever you like. Before the project starts, we offer a preparation day so you can get to know VIA and what you can expect during a project.
